Sun 12 Sept 11:00 - 16:00

Chiswell Community Garden
Chiswell
Portland
DT5 1AW

An installation inspired by the Portland community’s experiences, during the first Lockdown.

This installation was a development of “Flag it Up Portland”, an art competition commissioned by Activate, which encouraged local residents to craft “thank you flags”, dedicated to the things, people and places that they were most grateful for in these strange times. The responses were universally relatable; in tough times, people turned to their pets, nature, crafting and family and friends.

Access:

The gardens where The Light House is, is quite small and can feel crowded at times. There is space to wait outside to go in when it is quieter. The ground will be a little uneven and there is limited seating in the gardens.

The Light House makes everyday saints out of these things; shining a light on the positive things Portland’s local community experienced during Lockdown.
