Liminal by Kit Benwell
Liminal was inspired by the tidal surges of last winter’s storms and the indeterminate nature of the constantly shifting point where land meets sea.
Kit originally trained as a furniture designer/maker but now concentrates more on sculpture, painting and printmaking. He likes to experiment with different materials exploring their properties and potential. His work is informed by walks along the Dorset coast observing the impact of the sea. He is interested in the effects of the tide and the action of waves and the continuous reshaping and sculpting of the coastline.
