During the lockdown, many people have been rekindling their love of making - baking, sewing, painting, drawing and crafting we want to celebrate and showcase these, and make sure that everyone can still engage with b-side's creative programme despite the current closure of our project space and postponement of the Festival this year.
Outpost project space is on Fortuneswell High Street, Portland and has huge street-level windows - it makes the perfect safe social distancing exhibition space. Anyone of any age or skill level can send in photos of their creations which will be printed up into large scale posters.
The exhibition kicks off with work from Portland artists Lyn Kirkland and Antje Rook who have both made work in direct response to the virus. Lyn has been recording her dreams during the lockdown, creating images as soon as she has woken up and Antje has stitched embroidered viruses one for every day of lockdown.
We will be changing the exhibition every three weeks, so do go and have a look - the posters really cheer up the high street and it's wonderful to be able to share Portland residents talents.
