b-side Internship

Are you interested in a career in the arts? Currently registered unemployed? Aged between 18 and 24 years?

If the answer to all those questions is YES then you might be interested in applying for our paid internship opportunity for the following position:

Festival Production and Marketing Assistant,

Based: b-side offices Dorchester, Dorset and on site Portland, Dorset

April – October 2014– 30 hours/week x 26 weeks

£5.00 - £6.30 per hour (depending on age)

ROLE:

  • Assist Festival Producer and Festival team in all aspects of festival management which may include attending meetings, taking minutes, general admin, evaluation and monitoring, supporting the PR and marketing of b-side Festival
  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for various aspects of the festival, preparing and operating rotas
  • Preparing staff rotas during festival periods
  • Specific duties will include the maintaining and contributing to the social media activity for b-side (facebook, Twitter and blog) 

PERSON SPEC:

  • An interest or experience in marketing 
  • An interest or some experience of event management
  • Knowledge/experience of using design software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Competency in using social media
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent with using Microsoft Office package software
  • Able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Interest in the Arts and Culture
  • Conscientious worker with good attention to detail
