The 'WHY? What's Happening for the Young?' Festival was launched by the Southbank Centre in 2014. This year, during b-side festival, we will be hosting our own WHY? Festival led, produced and programmed by our current cohort of [intransit] Producers. The WHY? Festival is all about Children's Rights and all the workshops, performances and debates we host will be based around specific articles in the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child.
The groups current interests lie around youth identity - LGBT identity, migrant identity and online representations of identity through mass media and social media too.
We'd love to get as many young people involved as possible - so if you're aged 11 - 21 please come along to one of our 'Think In' sessions where we can find out what you'd like to have at a young persons festival in Dorset. Our Think In's are taking place on:
- Saturday 5th May, 12pm - 2pm at Weymouth Library
- Thursday 10th May, 6:30pm - 8:30pm at Outpost, 77 Fortuneswell, Isle of Portland.
Between 1st - 18th May we are also visiting some youth groups / schools too - so please get in touch if you'd like to meet with us.
